Oil on canvas. I was able to get this showcased at the Ontario Museum of History and Art. I was feeling overwhelmed with emotions during the time in my life in which I was painting this. In my head it made the most sense to paint an emotion I wanted to achieve–to imagine myself without all these problems. Instead of using my negative emotions to drive this piece, I would instead pull from a different energy: Hope.
